JSR dam lines are known for their excellent reproductive performance and strong mothering abilities. With an animal to suit your production system, whether indoor or outdoor, all producers can take advantage of the benefits of our genetics.
In May 2015, JSR Genetics and Topigs Norsvin reached an agreement to form a genetic partnership in the UK. This means both companies will combine their Research and Development programmes to achieve faster genetic progress. JSR Genetics will become the exclusive distributor of Topigs Norsvin genetics in the UK.
The sow line breeding of JSR will now be 'powered by Topigs Norsvin', which means Topigs Norsvin will be responsible for breeding value calculations and other technology related to the JSR breeding programme.
As a result of this genetic agreement, we look forward to offering our UK customers the very best of both companies' extensive portfolios.
The JSR 15T is a naturally progressive outdoor female and is the product of Topigs Norsvin’s genetics and JSR’s developments. The 15T is a robust and strong sow, which allows outdoor producers to compete with the prolificacy of higher management production systems without increased sow mortality in the outdoor conditions.
The JSR 9T is the first product created from the innovative new genetic partnership between JSR Genetics and Topigs Norsvin. The JSR 9T is a hybrid dam line combining the Topigs Large White Z Line and the JSR Landrace. It is a prolific female with exceptional weaning abilities and an outstanding and unique contribution to finishing performance.
The JSR Genepacker 150 is our white but robust outdoor F1 parent produced from a first generation cross between our JSR Genepacker 2 (Landrace) and White Duroc dam lines. This White Duroc parent continues to perform in the harshest of environments thanks to the combination of prolificacy and robustness provided from two dam lines.
The JSR Genepacker 150 allows outdoor producers to achieve year round output in excess of 13 pigs born alive without detrimental impacts on the sow and piglet mortality during the lactation period. The inclusion of a 50% White Duroc rather than the traditional 50% Red Duroc or lowering Duroc inclusion means that outdoor producers are not restricted in their choice of terminal sire line and ca use the most profitable coloured terminal sires available in the market without impacting on the value of the slaughter progeny.
