20th August 2014
Held at Bishop Burton College, the multi-terrain event will again offer a three-mile race aimed at juniors or parkrun runners, with a seven-mile race for senior runners, which is set to include chip timing – numbers permitting. Both races will take place on the equestrian exercise track around the boundary of the college.
The 2013 event saw over 150 entrants compete across the two races and numbers are set to increase for this year, mainly thanks to the positive feedback from last year’s runners.
Race organiser Jayne Dale said: "The feedback from the first ‘College Canter’ has been excellent so there was no question whether we would be holding this event again this year. We are delighted to be supported by JSR for a second time and we are hopeful that the event will grow in popularity year on year.”
Tim Rymer, JSR Chairman comments: “We hope to see a really good number of entrants this year to make the competition even stiffer. Last year, the conditions couldn’t have been better on the day and we were really pleased with how the whole event went. I would encourage anyone considering taking part to get their entry in.”
