10th March 2017
The three finalists in a competition to find Yorkshire's best young chef have been announced.
The Golden Apron is run by the Michelin-starred Pipe and Glass Inn, Yorkshire Wolds Cookery School and JSR Farming Group, and is sponsored by Cranswick plc and Asda. The competitors were asked to create a dish on their interpretation of this year's theme 'My Yorkshire' and the best eight were invited to attend a day at the Yorkshire Wolds Cookery School and cook for a panel of judges. The three successful young cooks, Zach Abbott, Joseph Lees and Adam Rothery, will now go on to the final on 20th March where they will be cooking alongside James Mackenzie, owner and head chef of the Pipe and Glass, for over 70 diners who will have a say in deciding the winner.
